SALES/PLAYER COUNTS & DEALS

Send us your wildest gaming clips from GTA 5 and you could win a $100 Steam gift card
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/send-us-your-wildest-gaming-clips-from-gta-5-and-you-could-win-a-usd100-steam-gift-card/
Last month we launched a fun new feature: PC Gamer Clips! The coolest thing about this new feature is that it features, well, you. We know you're having a great time playing games, so why not record your best, wildest, and weirdest moments, then send the clips to us so we can share them with everyone on our site and social channels?
And, psst: there's a little something in it for ya, too. Each month our editors will pick their favorite submitted clip and proclaim it the winner—and the prize is a $100 Steam gift card! (Please note: restrictions apply, and the prize is only available if you're a US or UK resident.)
So, the next time you're gaming, make sure you're recording it, too. If something funny or strange or completely awesome happens, just snip it (the video needs to be under 10GB) and send it to us using the handy-dandy form on our Clips page. You might wind up featured on our social channels or the Clips page itself.

Capcom makes the majority of its sales on PC, and it expects the 'ratio to continue increasing'
https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/capcom-makes-the-majority-of-its-sales-on-pc-and-it-expects-the-ratio-to-continue-increasing/
PC beats PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox by a large margin when it comes to Capcom game sales, the publisher has confirmed in its latest quarterly report. It's a pretty astonishing figure: PC sales make up "approximately" 50 percent of total unit sales. That means other platforms—the aforementioned consoles and smartphones—share the other 50 percent of sales.
"As of the third quarter, PC sales account for approximately 50% of total unit sales, and we expect this ratio to continue increasing," the report says.
"Accordingly, we will further strengthen our PC development framework," the report goes on. "The technical expertise gained from addressing increasing program complexity and performance challenges in Monster Hunter Wilds will be applied to future title development."

MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS

Resident Evil 1's remake and the OG Resident Evil 4 are still must-plays, and you can make them both look even better with HD remaster mods
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/resident-evil/remake-re4-hd-mods-remasters/
The GameCube era of the early 2000s was a magical time for Resident Evil. Not only did Capcom return to the first game, releasing a much more challenging and intense remake (where mutating, self-reviving enemies first appeared, a feature every Requiem player is VERY familiar with by now), but it also pushed the genre towards a new, more action-oriented era with the gloriously camp Resident Evil 4.
Liberated from the GameCube and now over 20 years old each, both REmake and the OG RE4 are available with some mild enhancements on Steam. They're perfectly playable straight from the installer—but we can do better.
Thanks to painstaking efforts by the community, extensive graphical mods are available for both games, although not much gameplay-wise. Best not to mess with perfection, after all.
>> The article lists 2 mods, one for each game, with videos and pictures of each one.

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has reported that Ghost of Yotei, Saros, and Marvel’s Wolverine may not come out on PC. According to Schreier’s sources, Sony has scrapped its plans to bring these games to the PC.
>> Mike Ybarra, that must have a lot of free time in his hands, speculates that Valve’s Steam Machine may have something to do with this shift in strategy, as Sony would see it as a competitor to its Playstation consoles (TPU link)
