The seasonal wipes are the best thing about Marathon. It’s just like ARPG’s like Diablo in which people play seasonal characters and everyone starts from zero every time(except they have an option of letting people play on eternal servers, which I have zero interest in).
Wipes are quite common in extraction shooters to begin with, but Bungie are making it more formalised. They are creating a clear and definite structure.
Every season is effectively a chance to experience the game again, but with new changes and updates each time, and everyone will be experiencing at the same time.
