If you believe them putting this woman into the CEO office to go back to the old days that really doesn't make any sense in todays climate. I actually agree with you there to a certain extent. I can only see one of two outcomes coming from this:
Either, a) They drop the whole multiplatform nonsense or, b) They drop out of the hardware business. No inbetween.
And if for some reason they still are under the delusion that they can just have a console out there without exclusive content, then they are in for a rude awakening.
