SALES/PLAYER COUNTS & DEALS

Get 7 serious shooters for just $17, or 4 hidden gems for a fiver, in a pair of packages from new game bundle seller Digiphile

If you dig boomer shooters (or any kind of shooter, really), you might just dig the new Boomer Shooter Blueprint collection rolled out today by Digiphile. It's a collection of seven old-school shooters, some of which I can attest are very good, for just $17, a portion of which will go to support the Whale and Dolphin Conservation charity.
>> I have to admit that it’s the first time I’ve head of this store.

I only see three new deals at Steam, which are:

Fanatical has a new Star Deal and a new bundle:

Valve owns up to inaccurate Steam hardware survey findings, saying 'VRAM on some graphics cards was not reported correctly'
https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/valve-owns-up-to-inaccurate-steam-hardware-survey-findings-saying-vram-on-some-graphics-cards-was-not-reported-correctly/
It's important not to lose sight of the diversity of hardware. Sure, we'd all love to be playing with the latest and greatest, but a typical price tag for, say, one of Nvidia's RTX 5090 GPUs makes that anything but realistic. A glance at the monthly Steam hardware survey demonstrates you can get on just fine with hardware that's a few years old.
However, if you're looking for anything deeper than a thousand-foot view of the state of hardware, Steam has offered one more reason to take its findings with a pinch of salt. For instance, the latest Steam Client Beta patch notes reveal a now fixed issue "where VRAM on some graphics cards was not reported correctly" to the survey.
Additionally, the way system information is reported for Steam's hardware survey has now been tweaked, so that "in the case of multiple display adapters, we now select the one with the most VRAM to display and report to Steam." That should be a fair representation for most rigs.
>> I doubt most of us will think that this was the biggest problem of the hardware survey...

MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS

Bloodborne PC Remaster Mod V0.99 Available for Download
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/bloodborne-pc-remaster-mod-v0-99-available-for-download/
Last month, we reported on the name change for the PC Remaster Mod of Bloodborne. However, fromsoftserve has since reverted the project back to its original name. And a few days ago, the modder released a brand new version of it. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
For those who did not know, you can run Bloodborne on PC via the shadPS4 emulator. With this emulator, you can also enable this mod to remaster it. Plus, you can use another mod that unlocks its framerate. These two mods are essential for those who want to play Bloodborne on PC.
So, the Bloodborne PC Remaster Mod adds dynamic shadows to everything in the game and changes some settings to improve shadow distance and stability. It also adds parallax occlusion mapping to many surfaces, making them look more detailed. The mod includes new point lights for things that originally had no light, like candles and lamps. It also fixes objects that were floating in the air.
The biggest change in V0.99 is that he’s making the modified classic gparams the main version of the mod. As such, the art direction now aligns more closely with the unmodded game. Additionally, fromsoftserve has released a patch that upscales more textures, adds new shininess maps, removes additional baked lighting, and fixes several bugs.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Animation Stuttering Fix Mod Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/star-wars-jedi-survivor-animation-stuttering-fix-mod-released/
A few days ago, Digital Foundry discovered a way via which you can mitigate the stuttering animation issues in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. And now, a mod came out based on those findings.
For those who did not know, DF discovered a custom variable that helps with camera and animation stuttering in the game. This option enables animation interpolation, something that can help reduce the load on the main CPU thread.
Normally, you can enable this hidden value via Unreal Engine Unlocker. However, a lot of users don’t really know how to use it. And this is where this mod comes in. Created by our reader Christian, this plug-and-play mod makes it possible to use this hidden value.
All you have to do is download it from this link. You’ll then have to unzip and drop the files in the game’s executable folder ( SwGameBinariesWin64). The fix comes enabled by default, but you can use SurvivorAnimationStutterFixLite.ini to disable / enable the fix or the logging. The mod is also compatible with Patch 9.
This patch will be a godsend for those who want to replay Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, especially if they own a mid-tier CPU. Yes, interpolation means that you’ll be getting “fake” animations. However, I’m certain that most will prefer them over the camera stuttering issues.
Do note that the game will still have traversal stutters. The main purpose of this mod is not to fix those specific stutters. However, since the main CPU thread will not be as taxed as before, you might get fewer of them.
