I could be wrong, but I don't see Xbox Game Pass going anywhere. At this point it costs $30/month ($360/year) in order to play Xbox games day one with the Ultimate tier. That is equivalent to buying 5 full priced games ($70) a year, which very few people do. I see PC Game Pass going away in a year or two with one unified Game Pass that has access to pretty much the same lineup of games across all platforms (console, PC, cloud).
If they really want to turn around their console business they would need to bring in someone like a Peter Moore (he oversaw the OG Xbox and early days of the Xbox 360) or a Reggie. Someone with passion and fire.
