I watched it in the cinema when it came out. Growing up (in Europe) with other movies about key parties and swinger's clubs being around, this seemed more a fancier version of that. There were plenty of these sexual power trip movies around (Paul Verhoeven's Show Girls etc). MGS2 delivered the secret societies plot a lot better.
I don't remember the movie touching any pedophelia or global power network. Too subtle lol.
Then again, it's been over 2 years since I watched it. However MGS2's plot stuck more with me and resonates a lot with the current situation. Those who control the flow of information control the world.
