[Windows Central] EXCLUSIVE: New details on Xbox's next-gen console(s) — and Microsoft's most ambitious gaming plans ever

https://www.neogaf.com/threads/windows-central-exclusive-new-details-on-xboxs-next-gen-console-s-%E2%80%94-and-microsofts-most-ambitious-gaming-plans-ever.1693205/

  • Xbox Next Gen capable of running full Windows 11, by default will have a console like interface
  • Microsoft surprised by AMD CEO's comments of supporting Xbox launch in 2027, still polishing on Windows 11 console interface. 2027 launch is "best case scenario."
  • OEM consoles by manufacturers like ASUS. First Party Xbox serves as baseline, could see more higher end premium consoles from OEMs as well as cheaper slimmed down versions from a variety of companies
  • Microsoft still wants to make a first-party Xbox handheld eventually

If true, sounds like xbox version of steam machines basically

It really does sound like a Steam Machine, but I hope they think well about it and the products OEMs will be allowed to sell under the same branding. MSlop should learn about what has happened with the Series S and the problems its lower specs have caused to the brand, like Baldur's Gate 3 taking months if not longer to launch on Xbox because of it, and not allow OEM devices to ship with lower specs than the baseline that will represent the one made by MSlop themselves.

Otherwise, things could get messy.

Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection will be removed from sale on March 31, announcement.

Thanks for sharing the news. I guess we can assume that this delisting is because of licensing rights and IPs.

I hope they put it on sale before it's removed.

'It took about 5 years' for people to start liking Fallout: New Vegas, says Josh Sawyer, and even longer for Obsidian to see that 'players actually liked the design choices we had made'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fallout/it-took-about-5-years-for-people-to-start-liking-fallout-new-vegas-says-josh-sawyer-and-even-longer-for-obsidian-to-see-that-players-actually-liked-the-design-choices-we-had-made/

Sawyer maintains that New Vegas was nowhere near a beloved classic back when it first came out: "New Vegas was not particularly well-received when it launched. It was quite buggy and both players and critics commented on how much we had reused from Fallout 3."

What exactly has changed after 5 years?

The game started with a MetaCritic of 84 (shy of the 85+ bonus) and today has a MetaCritic of... 84.

The opinion of the players also hasn't changed much over the years (at least for the PC version).

In the first year, 99% of the reviews were already positive:

In the first three years, 99% of the reviews were already positive:

I don't know what to say, Maybe it's a case of selective memory, with him remembering the complains he mentions more than the overall reception of the game. After all, people can complain about the performance and some aspects of a game, yet still give it a thumbs up because the overall experience is positive.
