Israeli forces to demolish sports field near occupied West Bank’s Hebron
Israeli authorities have delivered a demolition order for a sports field that serves as a recreational outlet for children in the village of Umm al-Khair in the Masafer Yatta area south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, according to the Wafa news agency.
The field was opened two years ago with foreign support and funding as part of projects to serve the children of the village.
The notice comes after an “incitement campaign” to demolish the sports facility by Israeli settlers and the pro-settlement organisation Regavim, which described the stadium as an “obstacle to colonial expansion” in the area, Wafa reported.

Hussein al-Sheikh, vice chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s executive committee, is urging world governments to pressure Israel to reverse its plans to deepen control over the occupied West Bank.
Al-Sheikh made the appeal after a meeting with Arab and Western representatives in Ramallah, the Wafa news agency reported.
“He affirmed that continued international silence encourages [Israel] to persist in its aggressive and colonial policies, noting that mere condemnation and denunciation are no longer sufficient,” the news agency said.
