Iran warns against Israel’s ‘destructive role’ ahead of Trump-Netanyahu talks
Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, has urged the Trump administration to prevent Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from negatively influencing continued diplomacy between Washington and Tehran.
Larijani wrote on social media that the US “must remain alert to the destructive role” of Israeli officials.
Netanyahu earlier said he hoped to discuss the “principles” underlining US-Iran negotiations on the Iranian nuclear programme, during a planned meeting with Trump at the White House on Wednesday.
The Israeli prime minister has pushed the US to adopt a hardline stance towards Iran for years, including by advocating for US military attacks against the country.
Netanyahu is now on his way to the United States. Americans must think wisely and not allow him, through posturing, to imply before his flight that 'I want to go and teach Americans the framework of the nuclear negotiations.'

What happens when Netanyahu visits Trump?
No other world leader has visited the US in an official capacity over the past year more than Benjamin Netanyahu.
And the Israeli prime minister is set to break his own record when he embarks on yet another trip to the US this week – his sixth since Donald Trump returned to the White House early in 2025.
The visit comes at a tense moment for the region.
Israel is tightening its illegal grip over the occupied West Bank; the bombardment and siege of Gaza are continuing despite a US-brokered “ceasefire”; and US and Iranian officials are holding indirect talks to stave off a war that appeared imminent a few weeks ago.
The Iran file is expected to top Netanyahu’s agenda in Washington, DC, as he pushes for a hardline US approach towards Tehran.
