France calls on Israel to reverse West Bank measures

The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has “strongly condemned” Israel’s recent measures to strengthen control over the occupied West Bank, saying they violate international law.

The Israeli security cabinet’s measures “contribute to advancing the logic of annexing the West Bank and, in that way, constitute a serious threat to the two-state solution”, the ministry said in a statement, adding, “We call on Israel to immediately reverse these decisions and reaffirm our firm opposition to any form of annexation.”


Netanyahu’s plane flies over Greece, Italy, France despite ICC arrest warrant

The plane carrying Israel’s prime minister to the US has passed through the airspace of Greece, Italy and France, Flight Radar data shows, despite an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) over suspected war crimes in Gaza.

The three European country are all members of the ICC and have been signatories to the Rome Statute – the treaty that established the court – since 1998.

More than 120 countries that are part of the ICC are obliged to enforce its arrest warrants. In spite of that, many of Israel’s allies – including the European Union – have ignored the court’s decision.
