AMD CEO Lisa Su has stated that "Development of Microsoft's next-gen Xbox featuring an AMD semi-custom SoC is progressing well to support a launch in 2027."

Considering Sarah Bond declarations and current hardware prices... This will be a +$1000 piece of hardware.

Keep in mind that Microsoft is in a very very very unique position here.

They are one of the biggest reasons -why- RAM is in such short supply... They are one of the biggest tech companies that are actively rolling out A.I data centers en-masse... To the extent that have secured long-term supply contracts with multiple DRAM manufacturers such as SK Hynix.

Microsoft even partnered up with Open A.I. to help build the StarGate A.I. project, which is projected to gobble up almost 40% of the worlds DRAM supply.

This means Microsoft -may- be able to leverage it's already established DRAM contract and piggyback the next Xbox off it.

If Microsoft is unable to piggyback the next Xbox off it's current DRAM supply contracts, then absolutely... Expect a stupidly expensive console, but I expect it to rapidly decrease in price in 2028 as supply and prices ease anyway.
