Microsoft has confirmed multiple times they're making another console. What you're saying is "what if it's cancelled?" The fact is we know there's a new console coming and until Microsoft says otherwise we will expect it to come.

An $800 gaming PC with an Xbox sticker on it is not a game console.

Again, not saying it will be cancelled, but I don't think we can discount the possibility given MS's behaviour in recent years and the fact that component prices have created a hostile environment for releasing a new console for the near future.

MS is probably just going to release several pre-built PCs and call them Xboxes.
