I got a 3DS by 2013 after it became apparent that the Vita wasn’t going to take off and Sony was quickly pulling the plug. Especially after Studio Liverpool and Zipper were shutdown were not great signs either.
I’ve always gamed on handhelds, so I was always going to continue to play on one. I’ve since continued on the Switch and now Switch 2 as well as the Steam Deck the past few years. Which I will most certainly get a Steam Deck 2.
As much as I’ve tried to privatize Windows by disabling Copilot, disabling all data collection/telemetry, disabled all ads, converted my online Windows profile to an offline one, etc, I’ve realized it’s gonna be a never ending battle, so I’d rather stick with SteamOS for my PC handhelds.
I’ve also gotten into emulator handhelds like the ModRetro Chromatic or even original Game Boys with Everdrive
