That's a very dangerous calculation to make. Iranians for instance thought this about the Ayatollah compared to the Shah, and look how that went. They thought that in China about Mao compared to Chiang-Kai-Shek, also didn't exactly work out. Cubans thought so about Fidel Castro, see where that lead to? Long story short, never think that somebody won't be as bad and just a less bad replacement, as history shows time and again that they tend to be even worse. |
Ok, well I think that anybody could be a horrible ruler and turn corrupt as happens in many cases, but only a few will be so bad and infamous that history would turn against them --- Mao, Hitler, Amin, etc etc.
So, while it is possible, it still isn't likely. And JD Vance seems to play by the rules a lot more than trump is willing to do. Basically, I don't have to like a president to be ok with them. He'll also be doing us a favor by getting us away from Trump so I'll definitely support Vance taking Trump's spot when Trump has his Nixonesque moment.
