When it comes to the new plates I think folks are overthinking them as in the colors.
It’s easier for me to view the plates as a more modern futuristic cyberpunk aesthetic than attach it to a specific game or brand.
I don’t think Sony is trying to replicate Marathon or the old PS brand color way.
For me the PS5 has always been about being “striking”, where Sony departed from the comfortable and trying to push a more advanced feel for PS5, the look of the console the tech inside of it, it all feels far out and different. That’s what I’m getting from these new plate color, it’s in line with theme behind the PS5.
