Breath of the Wild to Tears of the Kingdom was depressing.

Man, I wanted to love TotK so much. But after like 10 hours or so I had to put it down. I was just not having fun. The sense of discovery and wonder of BotW wasn't really there anymore... and that was like half of what made that game so great to me in the first place.
I don't know, maybe I'll try it again after some time. Maybe I need to "forget" BotW a bit more before I can enjoy TotK xD
Personally, I was disappointed in various degrees with these sequels:
- Kingdom Hearts II compared to Kingdom Hearts I (in some aspects)
- Kingdom Hearts III compared to Kingdom Hearts II (overall disappointment)
- Pokémon Legends Z-A compared to Pokémon Legends Arceus (overall disappointment)
- God of War (2018) compared to greek God of War games (overall disappointment)
- DOOM Eternal compared to DOOM (2016) (overall disappointment)
- Bayonetta 3 compared to Bayonetta 2 (in some aspects)
- Super Punch-Out!! compared to Punch-Out!! NES (overall disappointment)
- Super Mario Odyssey compared to Super Mario 3D World/Galaxy (in some aspects)
- Splatoon 2 compared to Splatoon (in some aspects)
- Ori and the Will of the Wisps compared to Ori and the Blind Forest (overall disappointment)
- Wario Land II compared to Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (overall disappointment)
- Final Fantasy XII compared to Final Fantasy X (overall disappointment)
- Star Wars The Force Unleashed II compared to Star Wars The Force Unleashed I (overall disappointment)
- Jak II compared to Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (in some aspects)
- Tekken 7 compared to Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (overall disappointment)
- Super Smash Bros. 4 and Ultimate compared to Super Smash Bros. Brawl (overall disappointment)
- FAST Fusion compared to FAST RMX (overall disappointment)

Oh great call with Tekken Tag 2 to 7 !
I had been hooked on Tekken since the first entry (I think it was 5 that I didn't care for much but it was still alright) you get the fantastic Tag 2 then with 7 they strip out Team battle. With 8 you have to start paying rather than playing to fill out your roster and I loathed the Heat mechanic they ripped off from Street Fighter. I hated that so much that I never even thought about buying 9. The series is dead to me now which is a shame considering how much my friends and I played all the previous entries.
The series peaked for me with Tag 2 then went straight to hell after. What a shame. This is probably the only example where I can say I hate a sequel and the fact I didn't even think about it when the topic came up shows just how much the series is dead to me.
