| Kyuu said: Phantom Blade seems great! I'm currently playing Where Winds Meet, a fantastic game that feels like a mix of Souls/Sekiro, Breath of the Wild, FF14, and a bit of Tomb Raider wrapped with Wuxia and Chinese culture goodness... and HEAPS of bugs/glitches... China and Korea to an extent are adding a lot to the industry, but it's unfortunate that they lack diversity. They're primarily Souls-like, blade action, and Genshin Impact like, most of them gacha at that. This is contributing to the current trend. |
As somebody who hasn’t even played any of these games centered around a samurai protag (e.g. Ghost of Tsushima/Yotēi, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Phantom Blade Zero, Rise of Ronin, Sekiro), I must confess that I am getting very fatigued on this style of gameplay. Phantom Blade Zero, for instance, looks like an incredibly fun game!… but I feel like I’ve seen like five or six games that look just like it, having already done a good enough job.
