Honestly, I wish I could rank this game higher. Persona 3, the original, was a potential masterpiece severely hindered by the game it was attached to, what with it being too much of a grind-fest, a poorly paced story where you have to waste 29 in-game days between major events, and many other issues. Then, Reload came out and... Well, certainly the gameplay became more enjoyable, but too easy at times (especially the ending), the visuals got a big upgrade in some areas but then other areas look like an upscaled PS2 game, the music was remade by different people and sounds weird, and we got all-new anime cutscenes at the expense of many of the original animations being cut in favour of in-engine cutscenes.
Reload is certainly the best way to experience Persona 3 overall, but it still compromises so much of the original experience, it ultimately doesn't improve upon it as much as I wish. Nonetheless, I adore this game.
