UN expert says US sanctions have made her ‘non-person’
UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has spoken to Al Jazeera about how United States sanctions imposed over her Gaza reports have removed her from the global financial system.
She said the measures, which she calls unlawful, have had a major effect on her everyday life.

Albanese: “This is the culmination of three years of smearing campaigns against me, personal attacks, defamation, etc...” (“WHO??”)
🔹 “I have a private medical insurance and they refused to reimburse me, because I'm sanctioned by the U.S.”
🔹 “The European Union Parliament invited me for a talk recently, they booked a room for me — and it was canceled, because it was in my name.”
🔹 “Even financial transactions that have nothing to do with me but have my name on it—for example, you try to transfer one pound, or one dollar, or one euro to your friends with my name in it—it won't pass.”
🔹“I am banned from entering the United States. I couldn't present my report to the General Assembly, because my diplomatic visa was withdrawn, and another visa was not renewed — not even to go just to present the report.”
🔹 “I have personal interests in the U.S. We have an apartment in Washington. We used to go there, so it touches me personally.”
🔹 “So no credit card, no possibility to be paid, no possibility to receive payments.”
🔹 “And it's much harsher than that because, you are in a city, all my apps for financial transactions have been cut.”
🔹 “My bank account has had to be closed, and I had it in the U.S., and I was not able to open it in any other countries where I've tried.
🔹 “Even my medical insurance refused to reimburse me.”
Meanwhile sanctions against violent terrorist Settlers in the West Bank have zero effect since Israel will not enforce them. Reveal the truth however and you get deleted from society.
