Great console but the generation/industry itself was meh to me, often visually depressing, and many games ran like shit. Western games took over as Japanese software giants struggled apart from Nintendo and I suppose the rise of Souls and Monster Hunter. The highlights were X360/MS first party being their best ever, Naughty Dog peaking, and in hindsight Sony having more variety than later generations. 3rd party games were weak imo compared to all gens from NES until now. Shoutout to Bioshock though, a special game.

Nevertheless had a good time all in all between X360, PS3, and PSP (where I mostly played amazing ports/remasters/enhanced editions of older games). Perhaps I would have liked that generation more if I also had Nintendo consoles and a contemporary PC. But just in terms of personal experience and trailers, it's the worst generation. Little I didn't play caught my attention (I regret not getting Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Vanquish), and what I did play wasn't on the level of other generations overall.
