Fair elections are a scale, from 0 of total show with only one candidate anyway to 10 as best system ever seen in history.
I'd say that by that scale you can call legitimate something above 6 or 7 and Maduro's win was closer to 4.
Whether there was actual forgery of results is hard to say. Even largest demonstrations aren't representative of whole nation. But I wouldn't be surprised if some votes were "lost/found".
Either way, I don't expect a change of regime anytime soon. My guess is Maduro will hold power till next decade, it's only a matter how ugly means that takes.
