Israeli army says its forces killed Palestinian in southern Gaza

The Israeli army says it killed a Palestinian who it alleged crossed the so-called yellow line ceasefire demarcation into territory it controls in southern Gaza.

Without providing evidence, it claimed the person approached Israeli soldiers “in a manner that posed an immediate threat”.

Set out in the agreement between Israel and Hamas, the yellow line refers to an unmarked boundary where the Israeli military repositioned itself when the truce deal came into effect on October 10. Since then, the Israeli army has killed at least 347 Palestinians and wounded 889 others, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

EU official calls for unrestricted aid flow into Gaza during Rafah visit

Hadja Lahbib, European commissioner for equality, preparedness and crisis management, has pressed for urgent and unhindered delivery of food and medicine into Gaza through all available land crossings.

During a visit to the Egyptian side of the Rafah border, Lahbib urged Israel to allow UN agencies to operate without obstruction. “We are now in a grey zone. It is neither war nor peace, and this situation does not allow the Palestinians to begin rebuilding,” she said.

Lahbib said her visit was intended to examine how aid is being processed for entry into Gaza under UN standards at a time when international organisations continue to warn of rapidly worsening humanitarian conditions.

International assessments estimate Gaza requires at least 600 aid trucks per day, she said, noting many shipments are either delayed or turned back by Israeli authorities.

It's not a ceasefire... Saying 'the ceasefire' must hold is just re-inforcing the IDF's impunity.

Three Palestinians wounded in Israeli attack near Khan Younis

Three Palestinians have been injured in an Israeli drone attack in an area northeast of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Gaza-based Wafa news agency said the three were hit by a drone-fired munition inside the “yellow line” zone in the town of al-Qarara.

Israeli army says killed 9 Palestinian fighters in Rafah tunnel

The Israeli army says nine Palestinian fighters inside a tunnel under the city of Rafah were killed by troops in southern Gaza.

Media reports say between 100 and 200 Hamas fighters are trapped inside the tunnel, and Israel has not yet responded to demands by Hamas and mediator pleas to allow them safe passage to areas under the group’s control.

In a statement, the Israeli army alleged that, in total, more than 30 fighters “who attempted to flee the underground terror infrastructure in eastern Rafah have been eliminated”.

The city of Rafah falls within zones still occupied by the Israeli military inside Gaza. The United States and other ceasefire mediators are trying to negotiate the fighters’ escape to Hamas-controlled areas to keep the truce alive.
