One question I have is why would the EU accept this deal? It seems like a terrible deal for the EU - and it's a deal that involves the EU. Of course that's just on top of everything else that's bad in the deal (which is a lot). I have a hard time believing this deal to be made to be accepted as-is in the first place.

Trump is planning to eliminate aid if Ukraine doesn't sign.

Zelensky might possibly be trying to stall by showing what seems to be good faith in negotiations.

Morally, i have no problem with this because Ukraine is being attacked and zelensky is trying to save as many ukrainians from their eternal enemy as possible.

And if anybody else has a clue as to what is going on in zelensky's head then please feel free to drop in, because it would seem almost nonsensical that zelensky would make peace when Russia is falling apart in multiple different ways (military vehicles such as tanks or artillery or military remaining, lack of war chest, oil and gasoline production, etc)  .   I think that zelenksy knows that if he settles for peace now, then Russia won't truly know that they've been beaten, and could do the same thing in 10 or 20 years from now.    That must haunt him because he would be wondering how his children will be able to cope or if they will have to fight.
