Israeli air attacks, shelling in north and south of Gaza

Israeli forces are striking multiple locations in Gaza despite the ceasefire agreement, our teams on the ground are reporting.

In northern Gaza, Israeli air raids and artillery shelling hit Beit Lahiya beyond the so-called yellow line demarcating territory under Israeli military control.

In the south, Israeli air attacks and fire from tanks and helicopters were reported northeast of Rafah City, as well as air attacks and artillery shelling beyond the yellow line to the south and east of Khan Younis.

Two Palestinians killed in Gaza

At least two Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks in Gaza since dawn. Our colleagues on the ground are reporting that Israeli forces opened heavy fire on houses as an armoured vehicle rigged with explosives was sent through Tuffah neighbourhood, east of Gaza City.

Israeli military operating beyond the yellow line despite ceasefire

We are seeing extensive Israeli attacks beyond the yellow line that have led to the systematic destruction of Gaza’s eastern neighbourhoods. We understand the military is operating in a way that is deliberate – to create clearance zones.

From the early hours of this morning, Israeli drones were hovering extensively over Gaza City, and we have been hearing loud explosions.

What has been alarming are the reports and testimonies from families on the ground. They say there is a systematic attempt to destroy Gaza’s neighbourhoods and create buffer zones, making these areas completely uninhabitable, which complicates a return for families.

We have two civilians killed by Israel, one in Khan Younis and the other in Tuffah neighbourhood, east of Gaza City. Medical sources say these people were unarmed.
