There was never any console war. Nintendo ruled every gen with the most successful console, home, mobile &both at once all of them, every single gen except twice at home when PS1 & PS2 won. The rest is just wishful thinking by westerners. The only "war" was for 2nd place between Xbox 360 & PS3, and 3rd place between Gamecube & Xbox. Even the so called 16bit wars never existed unless you exclude SNES's Japan sales for some unexplicable reason, which would be pure nonsense in this case too. So there you go, Nintendo uber alles, and that's it.
