Israeli army launches ‘wave of strikes’ in southern Lebanon
In a post on X, the Israeli army says it has begun “a wave of strikes” targeting Hezbollah military sites in southern Lebanon.
It follows an earlier attack today in southern Lebanon’s Tyre area that the military claimed targeted a Hezbollah construction unit.
Israeli attacks hit several areas of southern Lebanon
Lebanon’s National News Agency reports attacks in several areas of the country’s south as Israel announced a “wave of strikes” in the area. One attack hit a building in southern Lebanon’s Tyre, while another occurred in the southern town of Taybeh, according to the agency.
It also reported an Israeli warplane flying at a low altitude over Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Israeli military carries out attack in southern Lebanon’s Aita al-Jabal
Lebanon’s National News Agency reports another Israeli attack in southern Lebanon, this one occurring in the town of Aita al-Jabal. It did not mention any casualties.
Earlier, Israel’s military threatened to target a building in Aita al-Jabal that it said had been utilised by Hezbollah.
Israeli army issues more warnings for residents in south Lebanon
The Israeli military’s Arabic-language spokesman, Avichay Adraee, has warned of another imminent attack in southern Lebanon – this one targeting a building in Zawtar al-Sharqiyah town.
In a post on X, Adraee called on Zawtar al-Sharqiyah residents who live in or near the buildings marked on a map he shared to immediately evacuate and stay at least 500 metres away.
