Don't know how much you guys read about the fate of the New Republic, but about 20 something years after the Return of the Jedi, there was this Youhzann Vong (don't know if i got it right) invasion, them being basically a race from a whole different galaxy. They really kicked everyones ass, but was also the time when Luke reached his greatest force potential. In what sense you ask? Well imagine Luke being able to create a black hole big enough to destroy an invincible alien fleet? Now THAT is mastery of the Force. |
Which is exactly my problem with the expanded universe. You have the bad-assery of the flicks, then every damn book has some Force sensitive that blows everyone's mind with his incredible Force powers, or some secret Jedi/apprentice(how many are there now?), or some Jedi pulling a starship down to the planet from space.
I hope Lucas has taken the money he made from all of these silly books and fed a lot of starving kids in Africa. Otherwise it's a crime that all of these books have pissed all over the films and their heros and villains.
