Israeli attack kills 2 near northern Gaza’s Beit Lahiya

A source at al-Shifa Hospital tells Al Jazeera that two people have been killed in an Israeli air raid that targeted the al-Salatin neighbourhood, southwest of Beit Lahiya.

The area is close to the so-called “yellow line”, the boundary to which Israeli forces have withdrawn in Gaza as part of the ceasefire deal. Israel’s military said it targeted a “storage facility for ground and air weaponry posing immediate threat to area”.

Israeli forces detain 6 journalists in the occupied West Bank

Israeli soldiers have detained six journalists in the northern Jordan Valley in the occupied West Bank. The official Wafa news agency reported that the media workers were arrested while reporting in the area.

Israel’s army has repeatedly cracked down on journalists doing their jobs in the occupied West Bank, as well as targeting media members with deadly attacks during the two-year war on Gaza.

Israel’s government has banned Al Jazeera from operating in the West Bank, while about 200 media workers have been killed in Gaza.
