Arc Raiders punishes players who fail to extract in time by simply dropping a meteor on their heads, but there is one way to survive the blast

I am a sheep. Stick a timer at the top of my screen, and I'll be gone way before it runs out. I don't even need to know what the consequences are; I just know that it's counting down to something I probably don't want to see, so I'll pack up and leave way before the final few minutes. But not everybody is like that; some players are braver than I.
Cut to -Aone, who posted onto Reddit exactly what happens if you wait too long in Arc Raiders: "Not sure how many of you have actually seen it, so here's what happens when the timer runs out."

Heavy breathing intensifies as Battlefield 6 players find flyable scout helicopters in Portal
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/heavy-breathing-intensifies-as-battlefield-6-players-find-flyable-scout-helicopters-in-portal/
Today saw the launch of Battlefield 6 Season 1, bringing a new map, a battle pass, a store stuffed with cosmetic bundle cognitohazards, and a fresh free-to-play battle royale mode with Redsec—or as fresh as a battle royale mode can be in 2025. But for a specific flavor of Battlefield veteran, the most exciting feature included in the update is a sign tucked away in the Portal editor that a series staple will soon be taking flight once more.
If your personal history with scout helicopters isn't a friendly one, however, this might not be welcome news.

We've been expecting Vampire Survivors' online co-op update since it entered beta branch testing in August, but Poncle's weekly feature teases have been hinting at some extra surprises since the start of October. Today, update 1.14 has finally landed—and it brought a bonus Balatro-themed expansion with it.

Amazon Games is making major layoffs as it shifts focus away from MMOs to its Luna cloud gaming platform: 'We have made the difficult decision to halt a significant amount of our first-party AAA game development'

Amazon's AI-powered layoff of 14,000 employees will see "significant" cuts made to its game division, according to a new Bloomberg report, which will result in a reduction in development efforts on big-budget games, including MMOs like New World.
>> As part of those layoffs and focus changes, New World will no longer have new content, tho the “servers will be live through 2026” (link).

The best way to innovate in gaming 'is to have good margins,' says Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, so I guess he'll be reinvesting his $96.5 million payday back into Xbox any second now

Days after a report from Bloomberg explained that Microsoft has expected unrealistic profit margins from its gaming division—one likely reason for its raft of studio closures, game cancelations and thousands of layoffs—a chipper Satya Nadella basically said as much out loud during an interview at a Github conference on Tuesday.
"If we as an industry don't continue to innovate how we produce, what we produce, how we think about distribution, the economic model—the best way to innovate is to have good margins, because that's the way you can fund," the Microsoft CEO said on the tech-focused talk show TBPN.
>> What a load of BS.

Minecraft has announced a handful of new mobs coming in the Mounts of Mayhem drop, and horses will finally be able to swim (which is huge)
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/survival-crafting/minecraft-has-announced-a-handful-of-new-mobs-coming-in-the-mounts-of-mayhem-drop-and-horses-will-finally-be-able-to-swim-which-is-huge/
There's no feeling quite like taming a horse in Minecraft, trying to ride it back to your base, and being met with a huge body of water. The sinking feeling in your chest, knowing that you'll either have to leave it there and run off in an attempt to find the materials to craft a lead, or simply push it by walking into it, is one we've all felt before. Fortunately, the Mounts of Mayhem drop is putting a stop to this, and all mounts will now be able to swim across bodies of water. Hallelujah!
That's not all the exciting news about the Mounts of Mayhem drop either. Three news mobs have been shared in an official blog post, including one new mount and two new variants. They all spawn in the desert, and often come as a package deal rather than appearing separately, which is bound to make the usually barren biome a lot more exciting.

Don't just shoot downed enemies in Battlefield Redsec, make them work for you by interrogating them and revealing their allies instead
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/dont-just-shoot-downed-enemies-in-battlefield-redsec-make-them-work-for-you-by-interrogating-them-and-revealing-their-allies-instead/
If you've played a battle royale before, chances are you've run into the awkward situation where you've killed all but one member of an enemy squad, but you just can't find the bugger. Either they ran for the hills, or they've got a grudge and are preparing to ambush you for round two. What if I told you there's a way to get around this in the Battlefield 6 battle royale Redsec, if only you show some restraint?
>> By the way, don’t forget to pick the tiny satchel looking weapon kits (link).
