Here is a Z1e Legion GO, with an 8.8" screen for $490 open box. 

Here is a UT3G eGPU adapter for $150

Here is an RX 9060XT 16GB for $350.

Total Price $1040 and when plugged into the GPU you're going to get 2-3 times the performance of the Ally X, even with USB4 performance penalty, and full RDNA4 feature support. And of course you can look deeper for a better GPU deal. I just chose a modern entry level one without looking deeply. 

EDIT: A 9060XT 8GB can be found for $270, making it cheaper than the Ally X.
