US president thanks countries who ‘fought so hard’ for his peace plan

US President Donald Trump has made a video address, which the White House said was “in response to Hamas’ statement regarding his peace plan”.



He wants that Nobel peace price so bad, completely ignoring both Israel and Hamas have many issues with his 'peace' plan. But good for the people in Gaza if Trump hammers down on stopping the bombs for PoW and Palestinian hostages exchange, while aid can come in. 

I'm very skeptical that, even if this leads to a ceasefire, it will last much beyond the prisoner exchange. But people in Gaza desperately need a break and aid relief and while that aid comes in the true scale of the genocide will come out. The pressure on Israel will only increase not to resume bombing Gaza.

Hamas knows this and is cleverly playing into Trump's plan with their answer. They were always ready for a full prisoner swap and stepping down from government. However not to lay down weapons or having the occupation/blockade continue. Trump just cares about the optics, to be the one to get the prisoners out.

Netanyahu is in a difficult spot however, either become further isolated or lose support at home with many investigations against him then getting more attention.



And of course Israel is ignoring Trump already

Israel strikes Gaza despite Trump order that bombing stop ‘immediately’

Al Jazeera’s Shihab Rattansi, reporting from the White House in Washington, DC, said Trump was clear in his post on the Truth Social platform: “Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza”, and yet Israel continues to bomb the Palestinian territory.

“So, it’s an insult. It’s a slap in the face to Donald Trump. Is he being told about the bombing?” Rattansi asked.

“Another major issue here is the information flow to Donald Trump; the Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and others, who actually are perhaps even closer to Trump when it comes to information flows – Steve Witkoff – are they telling him that that was Israel’s immediate response?”

“’Stop the bombing’; Israel bombs – immediately,” Rattansi said.
