At least 11 killed in Gaza in Israeli attacks since dawn

Israeli bombardment continues in war-ravaged Gaza with at least 11 Palestinians killed in the morning hours throughout the besieged Strip, hospital sources and rescuers tell Al Jazeera.

  • A child was killed by Israeli drone fire in the Ansar area, west of Gaza City.
  • At least nine Palestinians were killed and 13 wounded in an attack on a displacement camp in the central Gaza Strip.
  • One person was killed and at least 10 injured in a drone strike on Palestinians south of Deir el-Balah, in central Gaza.

Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 66,148 people and wounded 168,716 since October 2023.



Nelson Mandela’s grandson urges ‘safe passage to Gaza’ as Israeli ships approach

Mandla Mandela, grandson of the late South African anti-apartheid icon, has shared a message as Israeli navy ships approached his boat.

“We are calling on the entire global community to ensure that you exact pressure on your governments to call for our safe passage to Gaza,” Mandela said in a video post.

In the case of abduction by Israeli forces, he urged supporters of the flotilla to call on their respective governments for the activists’ immediate release.

‘Their crime was to carry aid for the hapless Palestinian people’: Pakistan

Pakistan has condemned Israel’s interception of dozens of vessels in the Sumud flotilla as a “dastardly attack”.

“We hope and pray for the safety of all those who have been illegally apprehended by Israeli forces and call for their immediate release. Their crime was to carry aid for the hapless Palestinian people,” said Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s prime minister.
