I feel like Microsoft is trying to firmly draw the line in the sand between those who prefer to buy their games, and those that play so many games that they will stick to the subscription path no matter what and throwing as many bones in there to keep them subscribed.
Consequences of trying for so long to lean your audiences towards Game Pass. Over the past year, they've been pushing Play Anywhere just as hard as Game Pass. Which, the entire point of Play Anywhere is you BUYING the games.
So, choose which side you prefer. Microsoft will be happy with either or.
