Yes it's just for PR reasons and Klob is pushing that for them. Including an $8/month subscription doesn't make the subscription worth $8/month more if you don't give a crap about what it adds.

It's like when cable tv forced you into paying for a bunch of channels you didn't want lol.

I feel like having a single Game Pass tier with add-ons you can add one at a time would be better.
