I personally never buy multi-platform games on Switch. I don't subscribe to online services and just buy on PC where it performs better, is cheaper and I will hold the rights to use the game for longer plus there are no online costs and I can often modify the games for new levels, new graphics etc. I only buy Nintendo consoles for their exclusive single player experiences. I'll admit I did buy some multi-platform games for wii u though as they were sold at ridiculously cheap prices here in the UK some as low as £2.99 new but that is a rarity as normally Nintendo versions of multi-platform games are quite expensive. I also find the controls better on PC with analogue triggers and better vibration feedback so it makes the experience better. I totally get about the Switch being a portable platform but I find my portable gaming is often more light gaming personally so the portable side of running more ambitious games is less important to me.
