Tbh I don't hate that the old guard is leaving or getting fired from Intel. In many ways, one can argue that they are the ones that put Intel in this position. Hopefully they get new talent that will bring Intel back into competition but they will bleed a lot more before it happens.

I think they've fired the woman that was co-CEO, but did they also fire the chief architech?

Bringing new blood is a necessity to keep the ball rolling, but that doesn't mean you have to get rid of valuable or important people. In any case, Intel's struggles were caused by him, but the board of directors, full of marketing/sales people that were too happy to slow down innovation and their foundry not being able to deliver on their promises.

Do people waste their time with PC now? Shit, I used to spend two - three grand on rigs; not anymore. This is how shit developers are now, scaling was always going to make therm unbearably lazy; although, I am sure UE5 is a piece of shit anyway because many games using it end up running terribly.

The biggest problem is that UE5 was build with upscaling in mind, and that makes it awful when rendering games at native resolution. It's a problem (among others) that share all UE5 games. Of course, Gearbox not doing a good job optimising the game plays a role as well.

There is also the long known fact that the Ultra, or in this case Badass, preset always tank performance in exchange of little to no visual improvements. In other words, it's mostly useless. High or very-high will look the same to most of us and provide a welcome performance boost.

*Edit*

All that said, those that bought 8GBs 9060 XTs or 5060Tis are in for a nasty surprise, even at 1080p.
