I wish I had never seen the video, I thought he had punched her a few times and then she slumped over and I didn't understand, it wasn't until I seen the pool of blood that it clicked that she was stabbed. This has affected me greatly, It still pops into my mind and I feel sick for those few moments where she was shocked and confused, they way she reacted is hard to get the head around and the indifference of the other passengers. Much of American cities needs more law enforcement, like a lot more. I used to think a police state was a bad idea but a temporary one might be what's needed like the push in the early 1900s to rid the country of gangster violence. |
This has nothing to do with gangster violence though, it's a failure of the judicial and health care system. Putting a cop in every train car isn't going to prevent mentally ill people suddenly lashing out and the train car cop would have to be nearby to be able to stop it. I haven't seen the video but from what I gather it happened pretty quick.Â
Do you suggest trains / subway need airport type security for boarding? A cop on every street. Heavy presence at every station.
Israel has by far the most advanced high tech surveillance as well as police / military presence, advises everyone to get armed, checkpoints everywhere in the occupied areas and still can't prevent attacks. Of course the reasons are entirely different there, but a police state doesn't make you safer. Arguably US already has become one since Trump was elected.
Look at the causes, fighting the symptoms doesn't work. |
Well yes.
I live and 10th world country and we have tighter security on train station then US even tho we have 2000% less crime then US.
Police officers should be mandatory in all public transportation places, especially in modern day.
