Moscow had been preparing drone attacks on Poland since July, using Polish and Lithuanian SIM cards in UAVs, Defense Express reports. Polish authorities were warned about test connections to their mobile networks. The likely goal was to gather intel on Poland’s air defense systems.

Czech PM Petr Fiala says Russia’s drone attack, which reached Polish territory, is a direct test of NATO’s defense capabilities. “It’s hard to believe this was a coincidence. The Putin regime threatens all of Europe and is systematically probing how far it can go,” he wrote.
