The PC Gaming Show is coming to Tokyo, for the Tokyo Game Show 2025, with a "new dedicated show" that'll air on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at 9 am PT / 12 noon ET / 5 pm BST / and 1 am JST.
"The PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct will spotlight some of the best upcoming games on PC, with publishers such as SEGA, Devolver Digital and Nightdive Studios already confirmed to appear," a press release says. "Expect exclusive trailers, news from the showfloor, must-see developer interviews and world exclusive announcements", hosted by TV presenter and host Elle Osili Wood and PC Gamer's own Midas Whittaker.
Gearbox boss says Borderlands 4 day-one patch 'does a lot' but warns that players should have 'realistic' expectations about performance: 'Older hardware may not provide buttery smooth performance'

Borderlands 4 is now just a few days away—here's the full rundown of global release times—and Randy Pitchford has confirmed, in what should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone, that there will be a day one patch. It "does a lot," the Gearbox boss promised, but it's not going to work miracles, and he said players with low-end PCs should have "realistic expectations" for how the game will run on their rigs.
>> I am realistic, and I expect the game to run well enough on the required minimum specs they asked for.
Keanu Reeves would 'love to play Johnny Silverhand again' in Cyberpunk 2—but that'd be a tough needle to thread with how the first game ends

In a recent interview with IGN, Keanu Reeves offered a spark of hope that he may return as foul-mouthed rockerboy Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2, the currently in preproduction follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077. This is far from a confirmation, though, and the original game's many ending permutations complicate the character's potential return.
WotC president says he'd 'love to have' a new Dungeons & Dragons MMO, but it would have to 'rethink what an MMO is in this day and age'

In a post-Baldur's Gate 3 world, it's unclear what the future holds for Dungeons & Dragons videogames. Contributing least to that clarity is Hasbro itself, which in recent years has laid off the team that handled D&D licensing with Larian, canceled at least five D&D games that were in the works, and has generally bungled a franchise that millions would otherwise be eager to enjoy.
Wizards of the Coast, at least, evidently has ambitions. In an interview with Gamesindustry.biz, WotC president John Hight says the publisher is once again looking forward to new D&D projects—projects that might eventually overlap with his history as Warcraft general manager.
'Do you think there would be a problem if we see Hitler's penis?' MachineGames considered having a full frontal Fuhrer in Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus

In the second episode of Noclip's documentary series on MachineGames, some of its senior developers revealed a surprising tidbit left on the cutting room floor of Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. The devs considered giving us a gander at the tallywhacker of Adolf Hitler. Spoilers for New Colossus to follow.
>> The answer is easy: depends on the size.
Loot boxes could be coming to Marvel Rivals as a dataminer finds evidence of 'multiple references to mystery box logic', and like always, players are divided

Word on the street is that Marvel Rivals has plans for loot boxes after a dataminer uncovered evidence of mystery box logic while trawling Season 4's files. There's no official confirmation yet, but the speculation is enough to divide players.
Final Fantasy 14 director Yoshi-P says the long-awaited job redesign will change things, but also won't—which doesn't clear much of anything up

Final Fantasy 14, as we've often observed on this very site, has a bit of a design problem when it comes to its jobs—they're pretty stale. Tanks mostly play the same, healers get like two damage buttons, DPS all try to shove their buttons into the same two-minute window: It's a little droll.
For a while, game director Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) has promised that this'll be changing in 8.0, FF14's next expansion. Back in 2024, he stated: "By strongly differentiating the jobs, we will be able to reach the goal we have set ourselves." It is now 2025, however, and a recent PCGamesN interview from Gamescom is casting doubt.

It's a sad day for horse girl enjoyers everywhere. Japaneses racehorse Haru Urara—dubbed "the shining star of losers everywhere" and whose personality and storyline was transformed into an anime horse waifu in Umamusume: Pretty Derby—has passed away at the age of 29.

'What a slap in the face': Battlefield 2042 players are raging about the 'Road to Battlefield 6' battle pass after a purchasable tier skip function is added
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/what-a-slap-in-the-face-battlefield-2042-players-are-raging-about-the-road-to-battlefield-6-battle-pass-after-a-purchasable-tier-skip-function-is-added/
Ever since the Battlefield 6 beta weekends ended, there's been a defib-sized hole in my heart. While we don't have long to wait now for the official release, there are still some players out there, like me, trying to find ways to scratch the itch, and many have landed in Battlefield 2042.
Battlefield 2042 is by no means the most beloved game in the series, but it is the latest instalment and therefore has the most recent content and regular updates. But to entice players to give it another chance, DICE added a 'Road to Battlefield 6' battle pass, which is full of cosmetics that will carry over to Battlefield 6 on launch. It sounds good, but it wasn't without its issues.
Please excuse my bad English.
