Big difference here was exclusives, software that people want to play and that was not available anywhere else, plus different design of console. Switch was hybrid of 2 with Nintendo uniting both their handheld and home Series S/X is just more powerful Xbox One with no exclusive software. Its totally different situation. The only way i could see Xbox competitive this gen, not to win, just to be competitive, was to have Series X cost 300-350e and Series S to cost around 150-200e |
Exactly! Imagine if XBSXS chose the route of being an affordable hybrid system with graphics comparable to PS5 (docked) (which Microsoft would sell at a loss (they could afford it)). And let’s say Microsoft didn’t port over all their first-party software, keeping everything exclusive to Xbox & PC. Then you’ve got a system that could have easily beat PS5 this gen.
