Israeli military claims it hit high-rise building used by Hamas
The Israeli military has released a statement claiming that the multistorey building in Gaza City that it has attacked in the past hour included “Hamas infrastructure” and was used to plan and carry out operations against Israeli forces.
“A short while ago, the [military] attacked a multistorey building in Gaza City used by Hamas. Hamas terrorist infrastructure was located inside the building, used to promote and carry out terrorist plots against [Israeli] forces in the area,” military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said in a statement on X.
He said an underground structure was also located beneath the building from which Hamas fighters launched ambushes and used it as an escape route.
“Prior to the attack, numerous steps were taken to avoid civilian casualties, including warning residents, using precision munitions, aerial reconnaissance, and additional intelligence,” he added.
Al Jazeera correspondents in Gaza reported that the attack came just 15 minutes after the forced evacuation was ordered and that the building is in a densely populated area of Gaza City.
Israel has frequently failed to provide evidence to back up its claims that Hamas is using civilian buildings for military purposes.
Just more lies to be reported without question by Western media
Here they are, right on cue
The Israeli military said the building they struck was being used by Hamas, and steps were taken before the strike to mitigate harm to civilians.
The comments are just as bad as the lies.
Mushtaha Tower management denies Israeli allegations
The management of the Mushtaha Tower in Gaza City, which was just bombed by the Israeli military, has denied Israeli claims that the high-rise building was being used by Hamas fighters, Al Jazeera Arabic reports.
The building’s management said the building was only accessible to displaced people.
Five-storey building in Gaza City now under a forced evacuation order
The latest building to come under forced evacuation orders is in Gaza City’s centre. This is a densely populated area, and more recently, it has become home to displaced families from the eastern and northern parts of Gaza City.
The Israeli military is advancing in these areas, destroying large swaths of residential clusters, public facilities and schools. This is a five-storey building near a gas station and the YMCA, a nonprofit organisation.
People are being given a short amount of time to evacuate.
More Palestinians head south after high-rise tower in Gaza City attacked
We’re talking about one of the biggest high-rise buildings in the heart of Gaza City being targeted.
Israeli forces hit it with two air strikes – the first was a warning and then it was hit again with another F-16 strike. Dozens of Palestinians have been injured. Doctors in al-Shifa Hospital say they are overwhelmed by the casualties.
Surrounding the tower were dozens of tents for displaced Palestinians, so they all lost their tents. Palestinians are asking what’s going to happen next. Israeli forces have been sending out endless warnings and evacuation orders over the past couple of days.
Now, many Palestinians are deciding to leave because they know if Israel starts targeting all the high-rise towers and buildings in the area, they will definitely not have any safe place to go.
So, we have been seeing more Palestinians evacuate to the middle area. Tents have been filling up in az-Zawayda, al-Mawasi, Khan Younis and Deir el-Balah.
Palestinians must either survive by going south or stay in Gaza City – and we do not know what’s going to happen if they stay. There’s fear and desperation here.
