You're acting like this wasn't the most hyped up indie game in history. The mythology around it's enigmatic moving release date could pretty much fill it's own novel.
This is an anomaly. We've seen several massive hit indie games that have swept people into a frenzy, but they don't suddenly change the entire way the industry or consumers move.
Just enjoy the game without being too much a prisoner of the moment.
