As others have stated the answer is - maybe? It really depends on what games you are playing. Do you mainly play Fortnite, Roblox, or other GaaS games that run fine on PS4 and Xbox One? The answer is now. Do you want to play the latest single-player games? The answer is yes.
However, at this point I'd say just get a PC IF you want to play first-party games from both PlayStation and Xbox. Plus you can use whatever controller you prefer rather than being stuck with just a PS controller on PS5 or Xbox controller on Xbox Series.
I've gone the PC route and play games either with Game Pass or buy them on Steam.
