Trump on killing of journalists by Israel: ‘I’m not happy about it’
When asked about the incident, the US president appeared to be unaware of the Israeli attack that killed 20 Palestinians, including five journalists, at Nasser Hospital in Gaza.
Pressed for comment, he said: “Well, I’m not happy about it. I don’t want to see it. At the same time, we have to end that whole nightmare.”
Trump then pivoted to talking about his efforts to release the remaining Israeli captives in Gaza.
Nasser Hospital bombing ‘horrifying atrocity’: Local US official
On the national level, hardly any US politician has addressed the Israeli attack on Nasser Hospital, which killed 21 Palestinians, including five journalists.
But some local officials are speaking out.
“Israel’s latest attack on Gaza is another horrifying atrocity – bombing a hospital, killing civilians and journalists, and then striking the rescue team sent to help the victims,” Sami Scheetz, a Democratic county supervisor in Iowa, said in a social media post.
“All of this is on top of a campaign of mass starvation against 2 million people after already killing over 20,000 children in the past two years.”

Trump predicts ‘conclusive ending’ to Gaza war within three weeks
The US president says the war in Gaza should end.
“I think within the next two to three weeks, you’re going to have pretty good, conclusive ending,” Trump told reporters.
The US leader has previously promised an end to the war, but his statements have not materialised. The Trump administration has supplied Israel with billions of dollars in weapons and rejected international efforts to recognise a Palestinian state.
“It’s got to get over with because between the hunger and all of the other problems – worse than hunger, death, pure death – people [are] being killed,” he said.
Earlier this year, Trump suggested removing all Palestinians from Gaza – a plan that would amount to ethnic cleansing, a crime against humanity.
