Israeli suicide drone kills, wounds journalists

The drone attack targeted the upper parts of Nasser Hospital, including the roof where a couple of journalists were standing.

Cameraperson Hossam al-Masri was killed in the attack. As medical staff went up to provide assistance, another attack took place, wounding several other people, including two journalists.

Three journalists killed in Gaza

We are now getting reports that three journalists are among 14 people killed in the Israeli attack on Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza.

Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza

We are in a two-year war where we have been deprived of electricity and internet, so Palestinian journalists are using these services at hospitals to continue reporting. We are also following news of wounded Palestinians, funerals, and malnutrition cases, as these are always transferred to hospitals.

That is why Palestinian journalists are making hospitals their base and end up being attacked.

The long list of media casualties in Israel’s war on Gaza

As we’ve been reporting, several journalists are among the victims of an Israeli attack on the roof of Nasser Hospital. Their casualties add to the growing number of media workers targeted and killed during the war – at least 240, according to the Gaza Government Media Office.

The list includes many Al Jazeera journalists, with correspondent Anas al-Sharif the latest victim, who were killed in an Israeli attack on al-Shifa Hospital two weeks ago.

Rights groups have roundly condemned Israel’s targeting of journalists in Gaza, where reporters face more danger than anywhere else in the world. “No conflict in modern history has seen a higher number of journalists killed than Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip,” says Amnesty International.
