UEFA issues Gaza plea days after criticism from Mo Salah; refuses to name Israel
The football governing body for Europe, the UEFA, has released a banner with the message “Stop Killing Children. Stop Killing Civilians” days after Liverpool and Egypt star Mo Salah criticised it over its meek tribute for a slain Palestinian footballer, Suleiman al-Obeid, known as the “Palestinian Pele”. Rifat Jawaid says that even today’s gesture by the UEFA was weak and lacked courage for humanity.
