Freed Palestinian teenager speaks of Israeli ‘torture’ after arrest in Gaza
Omar Asfour is among a group of teenage Palestinians who have been released by the Israeli army in Gaza after a monthlong detention.
In footage verified by Al Jazeera, he recounted the harsh conditions that Palestinian prisoners suffered in Israeli military camps after being arrested from an aid area in the southern part of the enclave.
“They electrocuted us and threw grenades at us,” said Asfour, who was arrested while trying to get food. “We were under torture for a whole month.”
The prisoners spoke after being taken to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, weeks after they were detained in the Shakush area west of Rafah.
