Not entirely unexpected results, tho I'm surprised Space Marines 2 is so hard on the CPU. Then again, it's supposed to have up to thousand of enemies on screen, so it shoudln't be so surprising.

I wonder if an 8-core CPU like the 7700X would have fared better in that test.

It hurts my head to see it running at 130fps at 1080p Medium and 120fps at 4K Ultra on a 9800X3D+5090.

The most demanding game on the CPU I've played is Path of Exile 2 it completely roasts it which isn't great now but should keep the room warm in the Winter.

Some games can be brutal on the CPU side. Stellaris and other strategy games with hunderds or thousands of units can bring any CPU on its knees as well.

Who knows, if rumors are true and next gen we get a 6GHz 10800X3D with 12 cores and lots more of cache, it can make the GPU the limiting factor once again. But it won't be great to use at Summer either.
