If you remember The Completionist / Open Hand Foundation scandal where they raised money for charity, and then people later found out they secretly didn't donate it, this situation is similar.
Vshojo is a agency for Vtubers, and we've now found out that many of their talents were not getting paid. And probably the most scummy thing we learned from all of this is that $500 000 that was raised for The Immune Deficiency Foundation has not been paid either.
Ironmouse explains it here:
Part of the fundraiser was CdawgVA's Cyclethon, where they streamed their journey cycling through Japan on stream, which was really popular.
A lot of their talents have now left the company, and for legal purposes they can't talk about every detail yet. But this will undoubtedly keep making headlines as news keeps coming out of this multi million dollar company scamming their employees and sick people.
I imagine the first response of the company will be to pay the remaining 500K they owe to the charity foundation and claim it was a "clergical error." But they'll likely not pay most of their employees what they owe them and run off with as much of the money of they as they can. Kson said they owe her a "significant amount", and that she has not been paid since September of last year.
In a surpring move, Kson invited the CEO of the Japanese branch, who acually accepted to come on and talk about some of it on such a short notice. He admitted that the company was financially stable, so there shouldn't have been any reason for the talent to not get paid.
I'm not sure if this stream will stay up for long due to legal purposes, but it's still available as of me writing this.
But on a positive note, a few hours ago Ironmouse opened up a Tiltify charity link for the Immune Deficiency Foundation, where there are no other middle-hands involved, with a goal set to $10.000. And it's already way past that at $405.000.
