Its no surprise people are pushed to the extremes, especially when the extremes more and more sound just like a real conservative or labour party would normally say or do. People have nowhere to go. |
The avg age of politicians in the UK (in the house of commons) is 50 with an upwards trend, generation X. Their parents are all facing pension troubles with the ageing population.

Without immigration population would decline in the UK and the only thing these politicians can think of is bring more people into the country, preferably those that have many children, who can work and pay taxes for their state pensions.
It's all self serving... This is what happens if you design your social security on ever growing population. Many western countries face the same issue.

No developed country offers a successful model for this.
Shut the borders and work until you die is the alternative? Pension age of 71 is already forecast for the UK with the current immigration.

The young pay for the old social security schemes don't work anymore, a complete overhaul of the current system is needed to suit declining populations. As much as people complain "They're taking our jobs", in fact they're paying for your pension and elderly healthcare. |
Thanks for the post but I am already well aware of it and the challenges ahead. By the way, pension systems should 100% change radically, the sooner the better. There are so many problems with it that it would take a full day for me to write about it. In the end, its just not fit for purpose.
I think there is a lot of things that can be done before you make the decision to have open borders into a country for a very long time, with the risk of erasing a certain culture or making your country to become unrecognisable. I am not british but I certainly want t UK to keep on having british culture, with rule of law, low crime rate, respect for women rights, a capitalist society, free speech and freedom of sex and religion. Horrible food, beans on toast, horrible women make up, marmite and the monarchy included.
People have the right to choose the course of action of a nation, and if people form a certain nation decide that they prefer face the challenges than go for open borders then so be it. A nation should even have the right to decide where to bring foreigners from if they wish so, how many, for which professions and etc.
This choice was taken away from people. Not only taken away but in the process politicians and media keep on saying that people is wrong to even question it.
